The IUPsyS seeks nominations for the President, Vice-President and
Executive Committee Members of the Union. Nominations are due January 15, 2007
and must be submitted to the Chair of the Elections Committee.
The IUPsyS Rules of Procedure prescribe the procedures to be
followed for the Nomination and Election of the President, Vice-Presidents and
other elected Executive Committee members.
Article (2) of Section III stipulates that the Secretary-General
shall request nominations for President, Vice-Presidents, and Executive
Committee members from National Members holding voting rights in the Assembly.
Article (1) of Section III provides that the Election Committee is
composed of the Past President as
Chair and two persons elected by the Assembly. The current Past President is
Professor Michel Denis. The 2004 Assembly elected Professors Dianne Halpern and
An-Magritt Aanonsen as members of
the Election Committee. No member of the Election Committee can be a candidate
in the 2008 elections.
Any National Member may submit nominations for one position or for
all positions, and may nominate more than one person for any particular
position.

The deadline for submitting nominations to the Chair of the
Election Committee is January 15, 2008. However, earlier submission is appreciated.
First Report
There will be a first report to National Members that will be sent
by the Chair of the Election Committee at least 5 months in advance of the 2008
General Assembly to be held at the 29th International Congress of Psychology.
This report will be sent by email to the email address of record for each
National Member (see www.iupsys.org/members.html
to verify contact information). If any National Member wishes the report to be
sent to another contact, please inform Deputy Secretary-General Merry Bullock (mbullock@apa.org)
of the contact information.
